THE VIBRANT DESERT

Yuyuya Nampitjinpa was born west of Mayinga in Western Australia just over the Northern Territory border. Her family moved into Haasts Bluff in the 1950s, and later to the Papunya Community. She is sister of the famous artist Ronnie Tjampitjinpa (c.1943). In 1999 Yuyuya contributed to the Kintore women's painting as part of the Western Desert Dialysis Appeal. Her work can be enjoyed at the Aboriginal Art Museum in the Netherlands.
